Summer Camp Fund helps pay for vacation

Summer camp is Mario's only chance for a vacation. His mother works full time and doesn't have time to take him anywhere -- nor does she have the funds.

Like many parents in the valley, Mario's mom can only afford to pay $50 to send her child to camp. That's about one-fourth the going rate for a week of summer camp.

Other children come from large foster families that can't afford to contribute to extracurricular activities.

By sending donations to the Las Vegas Sun Summer Camp Fund, children from different households across the valley can meet at summer camp, far away from the tensions of the inner city.
