Kyoko Ikari

Kyoko Ikari, 61, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born March 15, 1938, in Hakodate, Japan. A resident for 18 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Wilfred; one son, Paul Ikari, and one daughter, Nadine Searles, both of Las Vegas; two brothers, Yoshikatsu Nakura and Tsugihisa Nakura, both of Japan; three sisters, Fusa Sawada of Japan and Imi Yamashita and Taiko Hubahib, both of Hawaii; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be one hour prior to 2 p.m. services Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

William W. Jones

William W. Jones, 82, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospice. He was born March 21, 1917, in Dublin, Texas. A resident for 21 years, he was retired from the Air Force and a World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Maurine G.; one son, Douglas W. Jones of Asheville, N.C.; two daughters, Jeri J. Veenstra of Cleveland and Billie M. Jennett of Columbia, S.C.; one sister, Alma Williams of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Stanley A. Shores

Stanley A. Shores, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 13, 1927, in Rockford, Ill. A resident for six years, he was a retired printer and a Korean War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Billie; two stepsons, Bob Burns of Las Vegas and Terry Burns of Rockford, Ill.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be in Rockford. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Frances J. Badamo

Frances J. Badamo, 59, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 14, 1939, in Detroit. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Sal; two daughters, Margaret Badamo and Grace Badamo, and one son, Joseph Badamo, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Joanne Giannola of Waterford, Mich., Virginia Carucci of Macomb Township, Mich., and Marie Marzella of Troy, Mich.; and one brother, Vince Pellerito of Warren, Mich.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1811 Pueblo Vista Drive. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.

The family suggests donations to the Nathan Adelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

Bernard L. Turpin

Bernard L. Turpin, 67, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 15, 1932, in Tallulah, La. A resident for 54 years, he was a butcher at Community Grocery.

He is survived by his wife, Omega; three sons, Bernard Lee "Tom" Turpin Jr., Gregory L. Turpin and Henry Lee Turpin, two daughters, Beverley Turpin and Sheila Matthews, his mother, Arena Turpin, and three sisters, Rosalie Davis, Everline Shaw and Alberta Williams, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in American Burial and Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Greater New Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1100 N. D St. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Ray C. Wilson

Ray C. Wilson, 91, of New York City died Tuesday in a New York City hospital. He was born Sept. 29, 1907, in West Virginia. A former Las Vegas resident, he published New York Today and Long Island Today magazines, had syndicated radio broadcasts, The Ray Wilson Radio Show and the Restaurant Reviewer, recorded opera and popular songs such as Bianchi & Margherita, published and owned the New York Item Advertiser, a local paper in LaJolla, Calif., wrote multiple columns such as Broadway, New York, New York and the syndicated Travel Column.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Albina.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Marie; and several nieces and nephews.

No local services are scheduled.
