Tacoma manager breaks record against Stars

TACOMA --- A day to remember in Tacoma Rainiers history turned out to be another game to forget for the struggling Las Vegas Stars on Sunday at Cheney Stadium.

For the third time in four games here, Mike Ramsey's squad (50-63) waited until the fifth inning to get a hit -- a double by catcher Wiki Gonzalez -- while getting blanked for the second time in four days by the Rainiers, 3-0.

Tacoma manager Dave Myers, who was also celebrating his 40th birthday, became the all-time winningest manager in Tacoma history with 270, passing the mark of 269 set by Whitey Lockman from 1967-70.
