Small plants good enough for arrest

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Narcotics officers arrested two men and seized 98 marijuana plants growing in a sophisticated setup at a South Lake Tahoe home.

Paul Donald Maggy, 27, was arrested Tuesday after officers for the South Lake El Dorado Narcotics Enforcement Team served a search warrant and discovered the plants at his home.

"The plants weren't real big in size but, if they were grown to fruition, each plant could produce about a pound of marijuana," said Chris Elliott, the task force commander.

At a pound each, the potential value of the plants could have reached $295,000, Elliott said.
