Sheriff's dispatcher accused of burglary

Joseph Richard Foster, 43, Virginia City, was arrested Thursday for the alleged burglary of a private residence in Storey County, Sheriff Pat Whitten said Friday.

The arrest capped a joint investigation by Storey and Washoe County sheriff's deputies, he said.

Foster, who had been on the job for five years, was being held in the Washoe County jail. His bail was set at $25,000.

Whitten said he placed him on administrative leave pending resolution of the case.
