Letter: Media gullible about nuke waste

I'm referring to front-page coverage of the Yucca Mountain environmental impact statement. Prior to the document even being released, all 1,400 pages of it, the Nevada congressional delegation seemed to criticize every aspect of the report and your reporter bought it all: hook, line and sinker. The delegation apparently based its review on a single meeting with the U.S. Department of Energy.
This is a new standard for media gullibility in Las Vegas. I even believe it sets a new standard for political gamesmanship by the Nevada delegation. We have become accustomed to the delegation finding fault with every aspect of major Yucca Mountain reports, but usually they wait a few minutes after the report is released to pass on their wisdom.
Who do they think they are fooling?
