Letter: Higher income means more tax

Before Mr. Goplen makes statements, maybe he should check his facts. The people in this country who make over $100,000 pay most of the taxes.

Just because a person learned and worked to be able to have a better income, he seems to think they do not have the same rights as others to get to keep the money that they earned.

In most cases, a couple making $100,000 per year will get to keep less of their money than a couple that makes half that much.

It really is too bad that since about 40 percent of the people in this country do not pay any income tax at all that those same people expect the ones who earn more money to pay for everyone.
