Internal Affairs will host open houses

Metro Police's Internal Affairs Bureau will hold open houses in its five area command centers Sept. 7 beginning at 7 p.m.

The bureau will discuss how an internal investigation is conducted.

The centers are located at:

* 831 N. Mojave Road, northeast command.

* 6208 Hargrove Ave., northwest command.

* 2300 E. St. Louis Ave., southeast command.

* 5925 W. Spring Mountain Road, southwest command.

* 401 S. Fourth St., downtown command.

Sandoval steps up vice presidential ladder

Orlando Sandoval has been promoted to vice president for planning and administrative services at the Community College of Southern Nevada.

Sandoval, who has been with the college for 13 years, formerly was associate vice president for planning and campus sites.

"In the past 18 months Orlando Sandoval expertly managed five major capital construction projects worth nearly $60 million," President Richard Moore said. "Thanks largely to his leadership, each was built within budget and fast-tracked to meet our increasing demand for new facilities as America's fastest growing college."

Sandoval oversees all facilities planning, land acquisition, new construction, computerization and computer maintenance. He also is in charge of administrative computing and networking, telecommunications, risk management, enrollment management, grounds and custodial services.

He also is planning commissioner for the construction, design, maintenance and repair of K-12 school facilities and serves on the private investigators board for state licensing.
