LV's Lavin to compete in dirt bike event

Las Vegas resident T.J. Lavin is scheduled to compete in the dirt bike competitions at the inaugural Gravity Games, the new sports, lifestyle and music festival from NBC Sports. The event debuts Sept. 5-12 in Providence, R.I., and will air on NBC every Sunday in October from 4-6 p.m.
Lavin, a 22-year-old professional rider, qualified for the Gravity Games with a strong finish at the 1999 King of Dirt event in Ontario, Calif. He competes for a total purse of $57,500.
