Casino fined for ties to felon

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Argosy Riverside Casino agreed Wednesday to pay a $25,000 fine, concluding a disciplinary case brought against it in 1995 for unlawfully doing business with a felon.
When Argosy decided four years ago to fight the charge, it faced a $5,000 fine for contracting with a vending company owned by Jackie Dale Norris, who had several illegal-gambling convictions on his record.
In 1993 he was identified by federal authorities in Kansas City as the head of a local bookmaking ring that took bets mainly on college and pro football and basketball games.
