Correction

Because of an error by the Sun, it was incorrectly reported in Friday's Metro section that there are no hospitals in Nevada designated to perform transplant surgeries. Actually, Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center has been performing kidney transplants for 10 years. University Medical Center also has done kidney and pancreas transplants for the past decade, although the program is now temporarily suspended while the hospital recruits a new transplant director. Also, the story reported that Las Vegas is tied to an organ donor network in Los Angeles. For kidneys, however, Las Vegas is tied to a local organization and the kidneys generally are used here. The Sun regrets the errors.
