Fifth Tokyo-LV flight added

Japan Airlines' decision to add a weekly Saturday flight between Tokyo and Las Vegas means there will be direct service every day between the cities between two carriers.

JAL, Japan's largest international air carrier, said it will begin the Saturday flights on Oct. 2. The company began offering two flights a week to Las Vegas last October, added a third in November and a fourth in April.

Combined with Northwest Airlines' two flights a week on Mondays and Thursdays, flights will arrive directly from Tokyo every day. JAL's return flights stop in Los Angeles before continuing to Tokyo.

Both airlines use Boeing 747 jumbo jets for their Japan service.
