Students invited to enter poster contest

Students in grades kindergarten through 12 are invited to participate in the Nevada Day Poster Contest.

Artists may design a poster that incorporates one or more Nevada themes such as landscapes, environments, arts and entertainment and history.

Winners receive a $100 U.S. Savings Bond and winning posters will be featured in the Nevada Day Program and displayed the last week of October at the Brewery Arts Center Gallery in Carson City.

Posters must be 12 by 16 inches. Any medium other than computer-generated artwork is acceptable. A brief paragraph describing the picture and stating the student's school and teacher's name must be included on the back of the poster.

Entries must be postmarked by Sept. 30. Categories are broken into grades kindergarten through second, third through fifth, sixth through eighth and ninth through 12th. For more information, call (775) 883-0345 or (775) 885-6447.
