Letter: Put an end to violence and hate
Friday, Aug. 27, 1999 | 8:59 a.m.
Enough is enough. Buford Furrow and his kind we can deal with. The problem is the sickness that is affecting our nation to its very core. Put him in prison or give him the electric chair, there are still others out there.
Furrow wanted to send a wake-up call to America to kill Jews. He is sick, sick, sick! He went out and shot some small Jewish children. We must realize that those bullets were not in Jews only -- those bullets were in every American, black, white, brown yellow, etc.
When a grown man shoots small children because of their religion, it should make us want to do something about hate and evil.
We must put our differences behind us and do something about hate and evil. Be it in the community, school, on our jobs, among our leaders. It must go.
In addition, an innocent mailman was killed because he was a nonwhite. This and other acts of hate and violence should make us stand together and say enough is enough! Violence and hate must go.
