Steady economic LV growth seen

UNLV's Southern Nevada Index of Leading Economic Indicators posted a modest gain of .44 percent this month, indicating continued steady growth in the Las Vegas-area economy.
The index is compiled by UNLV's Center for Business and Economic Research. It is a forecast for the performance of the economy in December based on data from June.
The economy in June was marked by a gain in taxable sales from June 1998 of 14.7 percent to $1.8 billion. McCarran International Airport traffic surged 12.3 percent and gasoline consumption jumped 8.2 percent.
