Reward offered for information on Sutro fire

The Sutro Fire broke out at midafternoon and was stopped six hours later with no structures being affected, although a handful of residents were urged to leave their homes.

Investigators say the fire was human-caused and are following up on reports of vehicles and people seen in the area just before the flames broke out.

The origins of a 10-acre fire Saturday at the Carson City dump near Mound House also were under investigation, said Steve Hedeman with the Bureau of Land Management.
