Democratic Party director named

Brown, most recently on the staff of U.S. Sen. Harry Reid's re-election campaign, will replace Brooks Stratmore, who left the party to join Reid's Washington, D.C., staff.

Brown's political experience includes 18 years on Democratic central committees in Carson City and Las Vegas, 12 years on the state central committee, and volunteer work on a number of state, local and national election campaigns.

Paul Henry, the Democrats' state chairman, said Brown will help the party better coordinate statewide activities and will work on bringing together rural and Northern Nevada organizations.

Brown will oversee the day-to-day operations of the party.
