Letter: Pro-lifers' efforts best elsewhere

After all, there can be many interpretations on "thou shall not kill," e.g. (What about killing weeds? Killing animals for food? Killing bugs?

Killing someone who is about to kill you or others? Letting someone die by not taking extreme measures at life preservation? Selectively aborting a fetus in a high-risk pregnancy in order to give other fetuses or the mother a better chance at living?, etc.)

Whether there is, indeed, a "day of reckoning" as Marie believes -- or even a god who dictated a particular version of the Bible (or other holy book) is open to conjecture.

The pro-life backers would seem much more credible and meaningful to me if they spent their efforts making life more livable for the abundance of humans who have already been born rather than trying to force others to share notions based on faith rather than fact.
