Letter: Motorist grateful for emergency 'angel'
Friday, Feb. 5, 1999 | 10:34 a.m.
I was on my way home from working at Ruthe Deskin Elementary School. After cruising the freeway from Craig Road, I had that sinking feeling that something was wrong with a tire. Maybe it was flat tire and I needed to pull over. It happened so quickly.
What I didn't expect was a blowout. It was a front tire and I had trouble steering. But I made it to the side of U.S. 95. Minutes later, he arrived and asked if I needed help. In less time than that, he changed my tire.
There are so many instances in which I wanted to write a negative letter to the editor. You get a lot of those. So I'm happy that I got to write a good one.
Hopefully, my knight in an emergency truck will see it. Maybe some fellow Las Vegans will, too, and feel a little bit safer knowing this service is out there when we need them.
Thank you Freeway Service Patrol of Nevada.
