Letter: Nelson is a true friend of the forest

That actions taken to provide much-needed protection against a proposed high-density development in the pristine Deer Creek area of the Spring Mountains would be used to cast aspersions on Nelson is an affront to the countless Southern Nevadans who worked tirelessly on behalf of this unique microcosm.
Deer Creek is one of only a few no-cost picnic areas available for families to enjoy within the Spring Mountains. Magnificent ponderosa & white pines, wild rose, current bushes, a meandering creek and wildlife provide a wonderful experience for all ages.
Jim Nelson has been a great friend of all Nevadans and he cares about our wild places. Why was he forced out of his job for doing the right thing?
