Brief: Takeover candidates include Adelson

Starwood Hotels & Resorts is reported to have put Caesars Palace and its sister casinos around the world up for sale.
Bear Stearns analyst Jason Ader told Reuters that Mirage Resorts, Park Place Entertainment and Adelson might be interested in such an acquisition.
Adelson told Reuters he may consider looking at the Caesars properties -- but only wants to do so if he can add value to the properties.
He noted the flagship Caesars Palace doesn't have space for a convention center and that its Forum shops are already producing tremendous street traffic for the resort.
An Adelson purchase of Caesars could be hindered by anticipated labor problems at the Venetian, which is set to open in April without union representation.
