Boulder City Council accepts growth plan

The Boulder City Council took two steps during its Tuesday night meeting to help the city plan for the future.

The first was a unanimous vote to accept the Strategic Plan for the Southern Nevada Planning Authority. The plan outlines plans and proposals for dealing with the explosive growth of Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson and Boulder City.

The council also appointed itself as the redevelopment agency for Boulder City. The agency's first goal will be to create a redevelopment plan for the city's rundown areas with consultants Larry Bender and Associates.
