Letter: Reader's idea of rich is off base

My husband and I work two jobs to support six kids and by his standards we are filthy rich and should give up some of our "brazenly obtained loot." He sounds like a bitter old man who knows nothing of hard work, saving and making a decent living. All hard-working citizens deserve a tax break no matter how much money they earn.

Goplen probably doesn't want to see anyone succeed. He most likely would rather we were all equal. Equally poor, dependent on government dole to to eat like him. Sadly he calls himself American.

I am not a Republican, so he can't dismiss me as partisan.
