One dead, officer injured in apartment complex incident

The officer, whose name was not released, was taken to University Medical Center with minor injuries.

Police were called to an apartment Thursday afternoon to interview a possible kidnapping suspect.

Officers made contact with the suspect, but the suspect lunged at one of the officers with a knife.

The officer was stabbed four times before firing his gun at the man.

The suspect was dead at the scene.
