Frank Schreck Sr., a longtime office manager at Stauffer Chemical Co. formerly in Henderson and the father of noted Las Vegas gaming attorney Frank Schreck, died today. His age was not immediately available.
Schreck died of a heart attack at a local retirement home just hours after his daughter-in-law Bonnie Schreck of Las Vegas died of cancer at Nathan Adelson Hospice, the family said.
Services are pending.
"Frank was truly a Southern Nevada pioneer who helped Henderson grow from a small town into a city," said former two-term Nevada Gov. Mike O'Callaghan, a friend for more than 40 years.
"He was a leader in providing eye glasses and other needs for children who came from homes without much money. If a program was good for the town or the schools, he was the first to offer his support and then work to make it become a reality."
