Letter: Letter on Adelson a bit of fiction

I started work at the Sands hotel-casino in 1986. When Adelson bought the Sands, he put a prototype of the new hotel he was going to build near the main entrance. At the meeting with the Food and Beverage director about the future of the Sands, he assured us that we had Adelson's guarantee that we would all keep our jobs.

The hotel was going to be built, and before the old building would be closed, we would just transfer over. We did transfer over, but it was to the unemployment line.

In Weidner's letter, Adelson closed the Sands early so we could find jobs at the soon-to-open Monte Carlo megaresort. By the time we received notice of our jobs being terminated, the Monte Carlo had hired most of its personnel.

We only had six weeks to find a job. So he didn't do us any favors.

The only thing I have to say to the Venetian employees is you won't have a secure job as long as you work for Adelson.
