Thunder loses on road to Houston

HOUSTON -- IHL scoring leader Brian Wiseman scored the winning goal at 10:57 of the third period as the Houston Aeros beat the Las Vegas Thunder 5-3 Thursday night in front of 4,896 at the Compaq Center.
The Aeros snapped a four-game winless streak, and boosted their home record to a league-best 21-2-2.
Wiseman, Jeff Christian, Mark Lamb, Mark Freer and Zac Boyer all had a goal and an assist for Houston. Christian has points in his last ten games.
Shawn Wansborough put the Thunder (19-27-5) on the board less than a minute into the second period.
Lee Jinman's third period goal pulled Las Vegas within a goal at 3-2, and Sergei Naumenko beat the league's toughest penalty killing unit at 16:12 to extend his point streak to nine games.
Winning goalie Manny Fernandez held off 26 of 29 Las Vegas shots. Petr Franek stopped 32 of 36 on the way to his first loss in 10 decisions.
