LAS VEGAS--Sergei Naumenko scored the only goal of a five-round shootout to give the Las Vegas Thunder (20-27-5) a 3-2 win over the Long Beach Ice Dogs (33-20-2) Friday at the Thomas & Mack Center.
The Thunder, who have won 11 of their last 13 games, led 1-0 at the end of one period, after Patrice Lefebvre scored on a power play at 6:21. The Ice Dogs, looking for their fourth straight win, pulled ahead with second period goals by Mark Ferner and Lonnie Loach.
Taj Melson knotted the score 8:09 into the final period, with assists from Lefebvre and Kevin Kaminski.
Winning goalie Konstantin Simchuk stopped 33 of 35 shots in regulation, and blanked Long Beach on five shootout attempts.
