Letter: Zoning committee ignored input

It was a public input meeting scheduled by AZAC on Feb. 2 after much dissatisfaction on the part of Green Valley residents was presented to AZAC.

The committee met between Tuesday and Thursday evening to consider the input they were given.

They redrew the maps and drew the line for the Green Valley High School southern boundary down the middle of Wigwam!

They asked to have public input on this proposal and the input was entirely negative with the overwhelming majority expressing the opinion that Lake Mead was the natural boundary line for the Southern portion of the Green Valley zone.

Instead the AZAC committee had already formed their opinion, did not listen to any input, and decided to vote, and approve, what they had just asked the public to express their opinion about.

Many parents, students, as well as homeowners are exceedingly upset about this decision. Perhaps, the School Board will listen to the parents of 271 students and change the zone to include all people who live north of Lake Mead.

Let us hope that they will.
