Letter: Juipe's stance applauded

I just wanted to thank Dean Juipe for his fantastic article concerning the Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue.

As the mother of two teen-age boys, I am trying very hard to bring them up in such a way that they would have a purpose in life and a deep respect for women. That particular magazine's choice, unfortunately, only is a mirror of society today. I, too, am stunned that women's groups have not done more to stop this. The photos, poses, etc., are meant for one thing -- anyone who says different has a real problem telling the truth. I appreciate that you took the time to share something that was uplifting to women and families everywhere. Thank you for taking a stand.
