Man dies of gun battle wounds

A gun battle that left a teenager dead and another man wounded over the weekend became a double homicide early this morning when the injured man died.

The unidentified man, believed to be about 20 years old, died at 2:05 a.m., said a spokeswoman for University Medical Center.

Eloy Nunez, 17, a passenger in a pickup truck driven by the man who died today, was killed in a volley of shots fired into the truck near the intersection of Pecos and Bonanza roads about 8:30 p.m. Saturday.

A third man in the truck was not injured.

Charged in connection with the Saturday night slayings were Byron Jose Angulo, 15, Christian Jose Angulo, 19, Peter Miguel Cumplido, 18, Matthew Cumplido, 14, and Gustavo Aranda Cumplido, 36.

They were booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

Police said Byron Angulo told them the victims had shot at him on Buoy Street outside a friend's house earlier in the evening.

Police said the five suspects were in a burgundy pickup when they fired into the white pickup containing three people.
