Eldon Alvin Beck, 82, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 25, 1917, in Numa, Iowa. A resident for 15 years, he was a retired carpenter and a World War II Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Florence Ann; four daughters, Shirley Swinehart and Linda Johnson, both of Henderson, Dorothy Stroh of Clive, Iowa, and Christy Webster of Madisonville, Ky.; one son, Thomas E. Beck of Las Vegas; one sister, Myrtle E. Caskey, and one brother, Charles Ray Beck, both of Des Moines, Iowa; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the LDS Ocean Street Chapel, Henderson. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

George Diether II

George Diether II, 28, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born April 3, 1970, in Provo, Utah. A resident for 27 years, he was a medical student.

He is survived by his wife, Renee; one daughter, Corinne Shelby Diether, one son, George Andrew Diether III, and his parents, Phyllis and George Diether Sr., all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Jeanette Ray of Provo and Driel Diether, Lorein Diether and Vriean Diether, all of Las Vegas; five brothers, Justin Bradley Diether of Chandler, Ariz., Karl Brandon Diether of Chicago, Ammon Jackson Diether of Provo and Hyrum Taylor Diether and Chandler Pierce Diether, both of Las Vegas; and his grandmothers, Jeanette Jackson of Mapleton, Utah, and Margaret Pierce of Graton, Calif.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Desert Hills Ward. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Jason Matthew Dieul

Jason Matthew Dieul, 20, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 9, 1978, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was an electrician, a 1997 graduate of Western High School and a member of the Operating Engineers Union.

He is survived by his parents, Pierre A. and Joan Dieul, and one sister, Michelle L. Dieul, all of Las Vegas.

Mass will be celebrated 4 p.m. today in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling arrangements.

Margaret Helen Earner

Margaret Helen Earner, 85, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. She was born Oct. 27, 1913, in New York City. A resident for nine years, she was a retired department store saleswoman.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Branam of Las Vegas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Russell Leroy Ellah

Russell Leroy Ellah, 62, of Las Vegas died Feb. 15 in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 9, 1937, in Canada. A resident for 36 years, he owned and operated Russ Automotive.

He is survived by his companion, Mitzy Cooper; one son, Russell Patrick Ellah; one daughter, Wendy Susan Andrade; four brothers, Charles Ellah, Robert Ellah, Donald Woolnogh and Richard Woolnogh; three sisters, Lillian Morningstar, Linda Porcino and Connie Rodgers; and four grandchildren.

Eleanor K. Faranda

Eleanor K. Faranda, 97, of Henderson died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Feb. 21, 1901, in New York City. A resident for eight years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Robert Faranda of Las Vegas; one daughter, Anita Fencl of Oxford, Ala.; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Marjorie Ford

Marjorie Ford, 82, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. She was born March 21, 1916, in Utah. A resident for many years, she was a motel housekeeper.

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Morris of Henderson.

Marvin G. Freeman

Marvin G. Freeman, 81, of Henderson died Sunday in a local care center. He was born Jan. 4, 1918, in Baltimore. A resident for five years, he was a retired public relations photographer, a World War II Army veteran and a member of Jewish War Veterans Post 65.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; one daughter, Suzanne Gross of Redondo Beach, Calif.; two sons, Lindsey Freeman and Jay Freeman, and one grandson, Josh Freeman, all of Las Vegas.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Valley View Memorial Park. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Greta Hagstedt

Greta Hagstedt, 95, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local convalescent hospital. She was born Dec. 23, 1903, in Stockholm, Sweden. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Marilyn Jensen of Las Vegas; and one grandchild.

James K. Jaworowski

James K. Jaworowski, 54, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 20, 1944, in Chicago. A resident for 10 years, he was a clerk for the Internal Revenue Service and an Army veteran.

He is survived by one brother, Richard Jaworowski of Chicago.

Donald William Lakin

Donald William Lakin, 69, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 22, 1929, in San Francisco. A resident for 12 years, he was a retired comptroller for Chevron Oil Co., an Army veteran, a member of Chevron Medical Association and Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta; three daughters, Susan DeVicariis of San Diego, Judith Lakin-Greenwood of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Crystal Lakin of Las Vegas; one son, James Lakin of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.

Kenneth B. Malloy

Kenneth B. Malloy, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 28, 1932, in Humboldt, S.D. A resident for 30 years, he was an Air Force master sergeant and Korean War and Vietnam War veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta; four sons, Donald Malloy, Max Malloy and Tim Malloy, all of Las Vegas, and Shawn Malloy of Illinois; one daughter, Sandy Harvey of Michigan; and six grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Tuesday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in Nellis Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Lawrence W. Pray Sr.

Lawrence W. Pray Sr., 82, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born March 23, 1916, in Chicago. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired service station owner-operator.

He is survived by his wife, Helen M.; one son, Lawrence W. Pray Jr. of Las Vegas; two daughters, Candace L. Cupples of Charlotte, N.C., and Nancy T. Pray of Las Vegas; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Jones.

Ephraim Ross

Ephraim Ross, 76, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born July 6, 1922, in Michigan. A resident for six months, he was a home improvement sales representative.

He is survived by his wife, Rose W.

Albert 'Smitty' Smith Jr.

Albert "Smitty" Smith Jr., 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born Feb. 10, 1925, in Mississippi. A resident for 26 years, he was a security guard and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Lelon Hense; five daughters, Irene Barnes, Vivian Jackson, Pamela W. Smith and Rose Jamison, all of Las Vegas, and Evelyn Green of Laredo, Texas; two sons, Officer Glen A. Smith and Officer Alvin Smith, both of Oakdale, La.; one cousin, Thaddeus Johnson of Las Vegas; 33 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Harrison-Ross Mortuaries, 2071 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Greater St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, 1439 Lawry Ave. Graveside services will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Dr. Cecil C. Thorpe

Dr. Cecil C. Thorpe, D.O., 90, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born June 18, 1908, in Washington state. A resident for 11 years, he was an osteopathic physician/surgeon and a life member of the American Osteopathic Association.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Miller-Thorpe.

Benjamin H. Walker

Benjamin H. Walker, 66, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 22, 1932, in Cooper, Texas. A resident for 10 months, he was an employee of Trane Central Air Conditioning for 15 years in Tyler, Texas, a retired Air Force senior master sergeant with 26 1/2 years and Korean War veteran and a 1978 graduate at Culver Stockton College with a bachelor of science degree in dental technology.

He is survived by his wife, Mitsu; two sons, Mike A. Walker of Las Vegas and Kenneth Walker of Cave Creek, Ariz.; his mother, Lula Walker, and one sister, Joyce Rutledge, both of Frankston, Texas.

Burial will be in Frankston. Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Vincent K.B. White

Vincent K.B. White, 64, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 11, 1934, in Escanaba, Mich. A resident for nine years, he was a retired maintenance worker at General Motors Corp., a Korean War Army veteran and a member of United Auto Workers Local 95.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; two sons, Steven White of Beloit, Wis., and Kenneth White of Janesville, Wis.; one daughter, Susan Lawver of Beloit; and 10 grandchildren.

Ken Worsham

Ken Worsham, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Jan. 21, 1927, in Tuscumbia, Ala. A resident for 22 years, he was an Air Force veteran and a member of Desert Rose Men's Club.

He is survived by his wife, Laura; one daughter, Monica Penksa of Las Vegas; two sons, Charles Terry of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Mike Terry of Canyon Country, Calif.; three sisters, Francis Davenport of Blue Ridge, Ga., Evelyn Hardin of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Martha Chapman of Memphis, Tenn.; and four grandchildren.
