Casino exec faces ban from industry

CCC Chairman James Hurley called Calandra's actions "repulsive," the Press of Atlantic City newspaper reported. The full CCC will decide what disciplinary action to take against Calandra.

State gaming investigators allege that while working for the Atlantic City Tropicana hotel-casino in 1996, Calandra groped and made sexually offensive statements to a Tropicana employee. Calandra and the woman were in a limousine returning from a party in New York thrown for high rollers.

Investigators allege that while working for Trump Plaza hotel-casino in 1993, he tried to kiss and placed a hand on the breast of a Trump employee during a promotion in New York.

The Press of Atlantic City said Calandra, who could not be reached for comment, told Hurley during hearings last year that he was too drunk to remember the incident involving the Tropicana employee. He denied the incident involving the Trump employee and accused the woman of perjury.

Calandra was named president of Trump Castle in 1990. He was transferred to Trump Plaza as a player development executive and left in 1995. He worked at Bally's Grand for a few months, was at the Tropicana for a few years and now is an outside junket representative for the Sands hotel-casino.
