Powerhouse sales rise

The 1997 quarter's earnings included a $3 million, or 28 cent-a-share, gain from a special tax benefit, Powerhouse said.
Fourth-quarter revenue rose to $54.6 million from $52.3 million, the Atlanta-based gaming- and lottery-equipment supplier said.
For all of 1998, net income was $4.6 million, or 42 cents a share, compared with $18.1 million, or $1.72 a share, in 1997, which included $13.3 million of extraordinary gains and tax benefits. Revenue rose to $201.2 million from $196.9 million, the company said.
