Letter: New regents got after equity issue

I would like to applaud the newly elected university regents for bringing to the forefront the difference of monies allocated for students of the South in the university system compared to the students of the North in the university system. Students are students and they should be treated equal.

It is refreshing to see newly elected officials grab the ball and run with it instead of sitting on the bench and allowing the veteran regents to make the decisions for the next couple of years.
