Letter: Deregulation of power industry bad for seniors

Secondly, the Public Utilities Commission will arbitrarily assign blocks of customers, who don't make a choice of a new provider, to out of town providers. We will have a tremendous state of confusion regarding service calls, equipment, rates, necessary improvements and I imagine, Nevada Power can think of a few more problems that will confront us.

Perhaps the casino moguls are happy about deregulating the utility industry, but we residents have one of the lowest costs of power in the country and we want to keep it that way.

Perhaps the Legislature should give this another good look!
