Middle schools may go to nine-month schedule

A school district report covering the cost and requirements to convert from year-round sessions is nearly complete. And school board members have reiterated their desire to act quickly on the change.

Currently, 10 middle schools remain on 12-month schedules.

School officials say they have recently finished gathering information on what will be needed to make the change. Conversions will also depend on final zoning decisions the school board makes next week.
