Letter: Scare tactic not quite so scary

I find myself being much amused with the highly disingenuous scare tactic being touted by the "chicken-littles" over the upcoming impeachment trial that soon is to take place in the Senate, by their claiming that such will cause the government to shut down!

So who of us really cares if government shuts down and sends its bureaucrats home for a while? Maybe we'll have fewer injustices to occur while they are home and off the payroll?

It sounds to me like it's a great idea to shut down government for a while. I think at least for some of these bureaucrats they have been a bit too comfortable and/or stupefied in their positions, in which they reach for Draconian measures for every solution to every problem that comes their way, and end up being little Hitlers instead.

Let us then, shut down the government while the president's trial is underway, and then maybe, when it resumes, these bureaucrats will come on back to work with attitudes that have been "better adjusted" and maybe have captured the essence of the work ethic the rest of us work under. Maybe?

Now that this genie has been let out of the bottle, I wouldn't be surprised if the "spin-doctors" take the idea back and "rethink" it some more and decide to forget harping away on that scare tactic theme to incite fear as to a government shutdown, as too many of us will be snickering about it ... do it, do it, do it!
