Two killed in holiday accidents

The Nevada Highway Patrol said Alana Yzette Garrett, 26, of Bakersfield, was killed in a single-vehicle accident at 3:10 a.m. Friday on Interstate 15 four miles north of Jean.

Troopers said a 44-year-old Salt Lake City man was killed in a single-vehicle accident at 6:30 a.m. Friday on Interstate 80 16 miles west of Lovelock. His name was withheld pending notification of family members.

In the Southern Nevada accident, troopers said Garrett was southbound on I-15 when her car left the roadway and crashed. Driver fatigue has been listed as a possible cause.

In the Northern Nevada mishap, troopers said the Salt Lake City man was a passenger in an eastbound pickup that drifted off I-80 and rolled several times.

The victim was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected, as was the driver, Lillian Krin Watterson, 29, of Salt Lake City.

She was taken to Washoe Medical Center in Reno with serious injuries.
