Winds help blow pollution out of valley

Levels of carbon monoxide, which had soared to unhealthy readings Thursday, had fallen dramatically by early Friday morning, the Clark County Health District reported.
The highest carbon monoxide reading Friday was 27 on the Pollution Standard Index. Any number higher than 100 is considered unhealthy.
The district reported a reading of 106 Thursday morning. Stagnant air had allowed carbon monoxide and visible air particles to build up in the valley over several days.
