MANITOBA MOOSE 2, LAS VEGAS THUNDER 1

LAS VEGAS--Doug MacDonald scored in the third period to give the Manitoba Moose (21-11-6) a 2-1 win over the Las Vegas Thunder (9-23-4) Tuesday at the Thomas & Mack Center.

The Moose fell behind on an early goal by Thunder assist leader Jason McBain, but equalized before the first intermission with Scott Arneil's third goal in as many games.

Richard Shulmistra stopped 26 of 27 shots in goal for the Moose. Las Vegas netminder Scott Langkow snagged 31 of Manitoba's 33 attempts.

UTAH GRIZZLIES 5, MILWAUKEE ADMIRALS 2

MILWAUKEE--Gord Dineen led the way with two goals and an assist - all in the third period - as the Utah Grizzlies defeated the Milwaukee Admirals 5-2 Tuesday night. A Bradley Center crowd of 6,230 saw the Grizzlies (15-15-5) post their second win in four games against the Admirals this season.

Dineen's first goal, on a power play at 5:24 of the third period, wrapped up the win. Less than two minutes later, Dineen and Trevor Roenick teamed to set up Don Biggs' second tally of the game, and Dineen added an empty-netter at 18:31.

Utah led 2-1 at the end of one period, after goals by Biggs and Dave Archibald. Petr Sykora put Milwaukee (17-14-5) on the board at 11:52 of the first period, and recorded an assist on Jason Cipolla's second-period goal. Winning goalie Scott LaGrand faced 30 shots and made 28 saves. Milwaukee's Chris Mason stopped 29 of 34.

KANSAS CITY BLADES 4, GRAND RAPIDS GRIFFINS 3

KANSAS CITY--The streaking Kansas City Blades posted their sixth straight win Tuesday, 4-3 over the Grand Rapids Griffins in front of 3,193 at Kemper Arena.

Two goals by Jason Cirone left the Blades (18-16-2) up 2-0 at the first intermission. David Ling's second goal of the game, unassisted at 1:28 of the third period, was the game-winner.

The victory makes Kansas City coach Paul MacLean one of only four active IHL coaches with 200 or more wins.

The Griffins got goals from Radim Bicanek and Andrei Vasilyev in the second period, and Aris Brimanis in the third.

Blades netminder Patrick Lalime made 27 saves on 30 shots to tie Wade Flaherty's franchise record with his eighth win in a row. Neil Little turned away 19 of 23 as the Griffins (11-17-7) dropped their third in a row.

LONG BEACH ICE DOGS 4, CHICAGO WOLVES 3 (SO)

LONG BEACH, Calif.--Sean Tallaire scored in the third round, and goalie Manny Legace stopped five straight shootout attempts, to give the Long Beach Ice Dogs (27-13-0) a 4-3 win over the Chicago Wolves (22-7-7) Tuesday at Long Beach Arena.

The Ice Dogs are undefeated in seven shootouts this season. Tallaire also sent the game to the tiebreaker, scoring at 12:34 of the third period to tie the score at 3-3. Winger Darryl Williams started the Ice Dogs' comeback from a 2-1 second-period deficit with a goal 2:33 into the final stanza.

After a scoreless first half, the Wolves surged ahead with goals by Jocelyn Gretzky and Steve Gosselin within the first 2:34 of the second period. Tom Tilley netted his first of the season at 11:18 of the third.

Legace made 23 saves in regulation. Wolves netminder Wendell Young stopped 20 of 23 in the losing effort.
