Letter: Republicans have played game before

If the South was regarded as a conquered foreign nation, they couldn't be represented in Congress. Now the South was mostly Democrats, and without the South the Democrats would be nothing.

In order for their aim to be a reality, they had to remove the one thing standing in their way. And that one thing was President Andrew Johnson. So they went after the president and almost succeeded, if it were not for Sen. Ross of Kansas. Even though it could make or break his own future in politics, he voted not guilty.

President Clinton is really lucky, they are only trying to impeach him. I'm a firm believer that the Radical Republicans had something to do with Lincoln's, John Kennedy's and Robert Kennedy's deaths. Their deaths were too much of a timely convenience for the Republican Party.
