The Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association chose Don Marshall of Las Vegas as the 1998 SGMA Heroes award winner for Nevada. He was selected for his commitment to youth athletics.
Marshall was instrumental in starting Las Vegas' first recreational soccer program 28 years ago and has provided quality leadership for more than 10,000 area youth soccer players. He also organized the Las Vegas Corporate Challenge soccer tournament and has overseen the tourney for the last 13 years.
Marshall will receive a $100 cash award as well as a $400 donation for the Nevada Youth Soccer Association.
