Streisand plans New Year's show at MGM Grand

Barbra Streisand has signed "an eight-figure" deal to perform at the MGM Grand next New Year's Eve, celebrating the turn of the millennium, according to a report in the New York Post.

But contacted today for comment, Shelley Mansholt, MGM's assistant vice president of entertainment public relations and marketing, said it's not a done deal yet.

"We were in discussions with Barbra," Mansholt said. "We are now in negotiations, but nothing is signed as of yet."

Mansholt said additional information, including how many shows Streisand will perform, when tickets will go on sale and ticket prices, is not yet available.

Streisand last performed in Las Vegas in 1993 at the MGM Grand. The pair of concerts, on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, sold out the hotel's Grand Garden Arena. Tickets ranged from $50 to $1,000.
