Drilling company worker dies on icy road in Elko

The Nevada Highway Patrol said John Furlong, 62, was driving a company pickup truck early Tuesday when he lost control on the icy roadway 22-miles east of Elko.
The truck flipped over in the median and rolled several times. Furlong was wearing a seat belt, but the cab of the truck was crushed, the patrol said.
Authorities said Furlong worked for an Elko drilling company and was traveling alone at the time of the accident.
