Letter: Reader liked old weather package

Talk about overkill! Who, but a few meteorologists, climatologists or stargazers, is interested in last week's temperatures, the lake levels, or the rise and set of Jupiter, Saturn or Venus?
Bring back your daily color map of the entire nation (or black-and-white if it's less expensive). The majority or us want to see what the weather is doing all over the country, not just Nevada and vicinity. We want to be able to gloat about the beautiful weather we're having, when we look at the national map and see how the rest of the country is experiencing snow, sleet, hail, thunderstorms, etc.
And the statistic I miss very much in your current weather data is the wind velocity and direction. What happened to it? Living, as I do, in a fragile, mobile home, a strong wind is a frightening thing, especially when the house shakes from strong gusts.
Please give us back the old national map, together with its larger list of cities and their weather.
