Brief: Americana Group joins Prudential

Americana Group Realtors, presently under a franchise agreement with Better Homes and Gardens, will become associated with Prudential Real Estate Affiliates Inc. at the end of March. The company will be known as Prudential Americana.

The Americana Group, under co-owners Mark Stark and Jack Woodcock, will join forces with Prudential's Nevada presence, Prudential Southwest Realty, which was acquired last week by a subsidiary of California-based Pickford Realty Ltd., Prudential's largest affiliate.

Woodcock said terms of the merger agreement were not disclosed.

The combined companies will have an estimated sales volume of $1.3 billion with more than 700 associates. Woodcock said that number is expected to grow after the merger.
