Brief: Charter carrier plans scheduled service to LV

Mendota Heights, Minn.-based Sun Country Airlines announced it is still finalizing its schedule and plans to offer regular service to several destinations from Minneapolis. Sun Country presently offers charter service to about 20 cities, including Las Vegas, with a fleet of four DC-10 jumbo jets and 11 Boeing 727s.

Sun Country will compete directly with Minneapolis-based Northwest Airlines and America West Airlines on the Las Vegas route and the company plans a frequent-flier program when scheduled service begins.
