Wells City Manager looking for new job

City Council members declined to state a reason for their unanimous decision to fire him last week.
"The board would like to go another direction," Mayor Chuck Rigel said.
The council appointed City Clerk Sue Smith acting city manager, and agreed to seek applications for the post for 30 days.
Christiaens, former city superintendent of Choteau, Mont., was hired in November 1997 at an annual salary of $40,000 plus benefits.
He replaced Mike Cosgrove, who was fired in July 1997 after serving for seven years.
