Erna Margaret Appelt, 90, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 12, 1908, in Bremerhaven, Germany. A resident for five years, she was a retired cook and domestic care giver.

She is survived by two daughters, Doris Belting of Las Vegas and Linda Thompson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sons, Walter Appelt of Glendale, N.Y., and Richard Appelt of South Bend, Ind.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be private.

Paul 'Mike' Baptiste

Paul 'Mike' Baptiste, 76, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 22, 1922, in Trinidad. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired airline service attendant and a World War II Marine Corps veteran, a member of the Shriners and the Masons.

He is survived by one brother, Francis Baptiste of New York City and John Baptiste of Trinidad; and one sister, Octavia Jordan of Trinidad.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

Al Bogart

Al Bogart, 78, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born May 11, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for nine years, he was a retired postal employee, a World War II Navy veteran, past commander of Jewish War Veterans, Department of Arizona-Nevada, founder of Jewish War Veterans Post 21, member of Bet Knesset Bamidbar of Sun City, City of Hope and Knights of Pythias.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two daughters, Bonnie Ermilio of Encino, Calif., and Jeanette Rosenberg of Beaverton, Ore.; two sons, Lance Bogart of Los Angeles and Ira Bogart of Brooklyn; two brothers, Seymour Bogatz of Studio City, Calif., and Mickey Bogatz of Ozone Park, N.Y.; two sisters, Edith Fisherman of Boca Raton, Fla., and Sylvia Goldman of Miami; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave. Burial will be in Los Angeles.

George Boright

George Boright, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 4, 1910, in Sweetsburg, Quebec. A resident for 35 years, he was a retired hotel waiter, a World War II Army veteran and a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by his wife, Deane; four sons, Charles Boright, Michael Talley and John Talley, all of California, and Tom Williams of Las Vegas; two daughters, Jacquelyn Graustein of Tennessee and Carol Will of Utah; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to 11 a.m. services today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Fred L. 'Jack' Chapman

Fred L. "Jack" Chapman, 81, of Henderson died Sunday in a local health care center. He was born Feb. 6, 1917, in Middlesborough, England. A resident for 10 years, he was a retired media personality, a World War II Air Force veteran and a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife, Jean; three sons, Grant Chapman and Fred Chapman Jr., both of Las Vegas, and Gary Chapman of Paris, Ill.; three daughters, Sharon Heibers of Englewood, Fla., Bonnie Baylor of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Sandra Chapman of Paris; one brother, Robert Chapman of Wilkes-Barre, Pa.; three sisters, Eileen Evans of Sierra Vista, Ariz., Dorothy Chapman of Santa Ana, Calif., and Marian Howard of Midwest City, Okla.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Albert Conder

Albert Conder, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. He was born June 10, 1926, in Cottonwood, Ariz. A resident for one year, he was a retired Air Force master sergeant and World War II, Korean War and Vietnam War veteran, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of the Air Force Gunners Association.

He is survived by his wife, Louise; two sons, Gary Conder and Terry Conder, both of Las Vegas; and one sister, Betty Gragg of Reno; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Ollie Bell Conway

Ollie Bell Conway, 75, of Las Vegas died Jan. 11 at a local hospital. She was born Dec. 17, 1923, in Vicksburg, Miss. A resident for 47 years, she was an executive housekeeper at a hotel.

She is survived by one son, Robert McDaniels, two daughters, Lue Venia Trantham and Minnie L. Watkins, and a special grandson, Michael McDaniels, all of Las Vegas; 44 grandchildren and 119 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be noon-8 p.m. Thursday at American Burial & Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Victory Baptist Church. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mildred I. Cook

Mildred I. Cook, 86, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born July 23, 1912, in Lawrence, Kan. A resident for 67 years, she was a retired tailoring manager at a department store, a former member of the Literary Club, Ladies Auxiliary of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainman, Eastern Star and Eagle Auxiliary.

She is survived by one son, Phil Cook, and one daughter, Mary Ellen King, both of Las Vegas; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Jenny Lee Field

Jenny Lee Field, 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 14, 1942, in Arthurdale, W.Va. A resident for 16 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Charles H.; three sons, Charles H. Field II of Berlin Heights, Ohio, and Ronald D. Field and John D. Field, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Cathy LeRae Wilde of Las Vegas; and 10 grandchildren.

Gordon Fraser, 66, of Boulder City died Friday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 20, 1932, in Jackson, Mich. A resident for 31 years, he was a retired electrician at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power in Boulder City for 31 years and was a Korean War Navy veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Evelyn J.; two sons, Michael Fraser of Boulder City and Douglas Fraser of Riverside, Calif.; one sister, Jeanne Wornstaff of Boulder City; two brothers, George Fraser of Cherry Valley, Calif., and Keith Fraser of Oroville, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is arranging a private graveside service.

Alfred Gerstler

Alfred Gerstler, 75, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 3, 1923, in New York City. A resident for 35 years, he owned and operated an investment company and was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Arlyne; one daughter, Felice Kadlub, and one son, Neil Friedman, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Faye Mentin of New York; and five grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Memorial Park, Northwest. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.

Andrew J. Ghertner, 22, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A college student, he was born July 12, 1976, in Illinois.

He is survived by his parents, Dianne and Gary Ghertner of Oak Park, Ill.

Mattie Guy, 92, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 1, 1907, in New Edinberg, Ark. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired hotel housekeeper.

She is survived by two sons, Bobby Guy and Lamar Guy, both of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Palm Chapel, Main. Graveside services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Stephen A. Harris

Stephen A. Harris, 89, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local convalescent center. A retired real estate broker, he was born Sept. 18, 1909, in Whitney, Pa.

He is survived by one sister, Helen, and one brother, Joe, both of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.

Benjamin Levin, 92, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born June 6, 1906, in Baltimore. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired carpenter.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca; one daughter, Lois Koppe of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

Effie A. McEwen, 70, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born April 2, 1928, in Shreveport, La. A resident for many years, she was a homemaker.

Dusan Milosavljevic, 73, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 20, 1925, in Serbia. A resident for four years, he was a retired sales director in the textile industry.

He is survived by his wife, Marta G.; three daughters, Militza M. Romero of Santa Clarita, Calif., and Liliana M. Rosell and Diana Milosavljevic, both of Lima, Peru; one brother, Dobrivoje Milosavljevic of Yugoslavia; and three grandchildren.

Jane Bessie Mohegan

Jane Bessie Mohegan, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local health care center. She was born Sept. 10, 1910, in Arkansas, Texas. A resident for two years, she was a retired gardener.

She is survived by four daughters, Carol Sylvester and Carolyn Maloof, both of Las Vegas, Midge Bullard of Bellingham, Wash., and Blaine Poirier of Indio, Calif.; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Willie Lee Nesby

Willie Lee Nesby, 68, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Dec. 29, 1930, in Terrell, Texas. A resident for nine years, she was a retired seamstress.

She is survived by one daughter, Joann Ellison of Las Vegas; one son, Clifton Nesby Jr. of Dallas; two sisters, Lillian H. Crawford of Terrell and Mildred Cudger of Los Angeles; and three grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to noon services Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday in the Lindell LDS Ward Chapel. Graveside services will be private.

Donald H. Pankhurst, 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 21, 1927, in Oshawa, Ontario. A resident for 34 years, he was a retired grocery receiving clerk and a member of Red Rock Moose Lodge 252.

He is survived by his wife, Mary-Ann; two sons, Denis Pankhurst and Thomas Pankhurst, one daughter, Donna Pankhurst, and one sister, Theresa Kelly, all of Las Vegas; four brothers, Benjamin Pankhurst, Samuel Pankhurst and Michael Pankhurst, all of Oshawa, and James Pankhurst of Cobourg, Ontario; and five grandchildren.
